What happens when death knocks on the door? No one knows is a blatant lie perpetrated by materialistic sciences and institutions.
WHAT HAPPENS MOMENTS AFTER DEATH? Is there an unsolved mystery about death and afterlife? Yes, says materialist sciences and Institutions. Science speculates using modern tools to map the subtle mind and consciousness moments after death, designed to map living brains. All their theories are based entirely on the physiology of the brain, brain stem, and the body.
Most recent study speculates that “No one knows for certain what happens after death, but the question has generated a surprising range of serious theories, from hard neuroscience to quantum physics to philosophy of consciousness.”
Science is trapped in the track of materialism. Perhaps, like most unconscious beings, science itself is trapped in its own ego.
Exploring the subtle mind is not far-fetched from what happens at death. The ancient as well as modern Sages have explored all states of being and beyond. But, because science cannot “measure” or “formulate” a model, perhaps, they tend to turn a blind eye to wisdom, because, perhaps, they do not accept “a wise man’s word for it.”
What is death after all? Science believes it is the totality of the body that dies. They are right. The body dies. Apparently, death is the ending of the body and the brain within the first 10 minutes. The final curtain is drawn. Death is certified. But, is it the ending?
Perhaps, Western philosophy and religion have failed “death.” Perhaps, their wisdom is flawed because they place too much emphasis on the body. Perhaps Their idea of the soul is likewise flawed. Perhaps, They have drawn the wrong conclusions, and therefore, even today their society follows such flawed wisdom. Yet, Eastern wisdom has something deeper to offer, and so, modern man is running eastward to understand the mystery of consciousness, abandoning their modern theories, sciences and institutions.
What does the Orient have to offer? Why do we exchange materialism and churches for Yoga? The Orient has held for the west a fascination for millennia. The Orient has always been rich in undisputable existential truth. The Orients emphasis on the soul is more deeper. Perhaps, it satisfies the questioner about life and death.
Because, the mother of all fears is the fear of death. How does the Orient answer the perennial question on death and afterlife?
A study discovered that the dying brain doesn’t simply go dark or to nothingness but marked a surge of gamma wave activity, the type of high-frequency brain oscillation associated with lucid perception and memory within the posterior brain. Another study shows an increase in high-frequency activity in a specific region of the brain called the posterior “hot zone” during dreams. A study reported memories or perceptions suggestive of consciousness during the time the person was clinically dead. Researchers categorized the classic near-death-experiences involving tunnels of light, life reviews, or a sense of leaving the body. A Quantum Physicist proposed the information that constitutes “you” might not be destroyed when the brain stops functioning. Drawing on principles from quantum mechanics, a biologist argues that time, space, and reality itself depend on the conscious observer. In this view, death represents a break in the linear continuity of space and time, not an ending. He correctly argues that immortality doesn’t mean living forever in time but existing outside of time altogether.
Quantum physicists hint that consciousness is more fundamental than the physical world, not a byproduct of it. So, basically, science still don’t understand what consciousness is.
The onset of death can be prolonged or quick. The person may become unconscious of the external, but inevitably, conscious inward of the subtle state. The subtle state may be prolonged or quick or none. The dream state may stretch well after the physical death of the body, and in some cases may manifest as Near-Death-Experience or lucid dreaming. NDE is merely an enlightening lucid subtle state awareness where one feels blissful freed from the constraints of the limited body and mind, which we do in deep sleep. It is not full enlightenment people claim.
Latent tendencies play out in the subtle state. It is known that a cinematic episode of marked events of one’s life is rolled out as a clip. After-life of a person depends on latent desires or karma that no one knows. Some remain in a limbo state of causal latency for a period of time; some take on another birth soon after death. The subtle mind can even make one aware of one’s own dead body, like a NDE.
For the unconscious beings, fear of death plays a major role in their lives because it is the ending of the ego; all that it possesses, all that it holds dear. But, do we not leave all behind when we normally go to sleep? The difference is we wake up to the same ego after sleep, but death annihilates the current ego. Yet, going to sleep does no guarantee the next day will be the same, often it is not. Humans like to cling to predictability. Yet change is inevitable.
Why do we wonder about death and thereafter? Should we not foremost wonder about ourselves, the moments we live? There is no difference between preparing to go to sleep and dying IN THE VIEW OF AN awakened soul. Dying is merely an event like going to sleep at night. It is the ending of the ego.
Almost In all cases of unconscious beings. If latent desires are not sunk in the heart. The ego takes flight with the last breath and returns with first breath, thus, the ego takes root in a new gross body. Look attentively when we prepare to go to sleep, when we sleep, and when we wake up. This relates to what happens when death rings the door bell.
EGO TENDS TO IGNORE THE SCREEN ON WHICH THE FOLLY OF DEATH PLAYS OUT.
THE EXISTENCE OF OBJECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS AFTER DEATH ITSELF PLAYS OUT OF THE SCREEN OF SUBJECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS.
THE TRUTH ABOUT DEATH: THERE NEVER IS DEATH IN REALITY.
RIP: REMAIN IN PROGRESS OR …BE FEARLESS. BE IN PEACE.
Well, no one can measure it. No one can observe it. We have to revert to the teachings of ancient and modern sages. But there is a way. Self-Inquiry. When we become attentive, we can witness the three distinct levels of human consciousness, waking, dreaming and deep sleep. This is still psychic stuff. Death then is no longer a mystery.
But there is one common basis of all three, pure Consciousness. Yet, we are still not close. That state cannot be achieved via human effort. No one can witness the witnessing consciousness; we have to transcend the mind to be consciousness; that cannot be known but knowable. Yet, no words can describe pure Consciousness.
WAKING: Active Waking; conscious of gross external objects; experiencer of gross objects
DREAM: Active dreaming; conscious of subtle internal objects; experiencer of subtle objects. Limited and confined space. Cannot be in the place it sees in dreams when awake.
CAUSAL: Deep sleep; Experiences become unified; no desire, no perception. Mass of consciousness; full of bliss; experiences bliss; door leading to knowledge of waking and dreaming.
What is it that dies? This has become almost a famous quote of Ramana Maharshi.
